Campus Ministry

The staple of our campus ministry is our Sunday evening student service held at 6:00 p.m. whenever UM is in session (last Sunday in August through mid-December; mid-January through early May). The student Eucharist (communion service) is followed by a free student supper on the Chapel patio. Our Sunday evening student service is done in partnership with Fr. Frank Corbishley, UM Episcopal Student Center Chapel.
We are here to serve all students at the University of Miami. The words "Episcopal" and "Lutheran" do not describe whom we are here to serve; rather they describe what we have to offer. Any and all students who are interested in joining us are welcome.
Every year students graduate and leave us and new students join us. The nature of the student community is constantly in flux. Therefore, the types of activities we do in addition to the weekly student worship services and weekly student suppers vary from year to year. In the past, activities have included Bible studies, discussion groups, snorkeling in the Keys, trips to the Everglades, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, volunteering for Coastal Clean-up, movies in the Chapel library, going to the cinema, visiting the Holocaust Memorial on Miami Beach, a Fair Trade Christmas sale, a St. Baldrick's fundraiser for cancer research, Mardi Gras parties, etc. To find out what’s happening this semester, see our Calendar page which is periodically updated.
Pr. Arnold Perry, is available for counseling for all students, regardless of whether or not they worship at the Chapel. Pr. Perry is one of several Chaplains, of various denominations, on campus; the Chaplains share duties such as giving invocations or benedictions at graduation ceremonies.
